12C · Data model how the data links together · entity-relationship
RARE EARTH DATAL
12D · Storage plan how many databases · what lives where
RARE EARTH DATAL
Storage plan 1 database today - 4 components proposed, each with one job
The one database that exists today. Tables fiches + liens + JSON datasets, fictitious seed only. Free plan verified 31/10/2026: 10 databases, 500 MB each, 5 GB per account. Proposed at scale: Postgres when concurrent writes and complex queries grow. PROPOSED
2 · Object store - R2 PROPOSED
Raw filings, PDF reports, fetch snapshots. Immutable: one object per fetch, nothing overwritten. Feeds the parsers; keeps the audit trail.
3 · Cache - KV PROPOSED
API responses and ranking snapshots for fast reads. Rebuilt after each publish; never a source of truth.
4 · Search index PROPOSED
Full-text across companies, sites, people, publications. Powers the unified search (company / site / deposit / permit).
Answer to "how many databases": one relational database today (D1, demo data), static JSON fallback when D1 is unavailable. Proposal adds object store, cache and search index around the same core - not more sources of truth.
12E · Table structures real schema today · proposed target model
RARE EARTH DATAL
Table structures every fact row carries source_id + fetch date
EXISTING (demo repo db/schema.sql) CREATE TABLE jeux_donnees ( nom TEXT PRIMARY KEY, -- projets | entreprises | prix ... document TEXT NOT NULL, -- full JSON dataset mis_a_jour TEXT DEFAULT (datetime('now')));
CREATE TABLE fiches ( id TEXT PRIMARY KEY, -- "mountain-pass" type TEXT, -- projet | entreprise | agence ... nom TEXT, pays TEXT, attributs TEXT DEFAULT '{}', -- JSON source TEXT, verifie_le TEXT);
CREATE TABLE liens ( source_id TEXT REFERENCES fiches(id), cible_id TEXT REFERENCES fiches(id), nature TEXT, -- proprietaire | opere_sur | cite | finance | localise PRIMARY KEY (source_id, cible_id, nature));
Rules: raw snapshot kept before parsing - conflicts shown, never silently averaged - a source older than its cadence is marked stale on the public site (section 7).

RARE EARTH DATAL
How we build the numbers
1 · We collect only public data: filings, government statistics, price agencies.
2 · Production, capacity and reserves are three different metrics. We never mix them. A developer with no production is ranked on capacity, clearly labelled.
3 · Every figure links to its source and fetch date. Conflicts between sources are shown, never silently averaged.
4 · Data older than its update cycle is marked stale.
Ranking principle: producers ranked on real production (confirmed). Default metric for mixed lists still open with the team.
8 · ACCOUNT / API (PROPOSED) + STATES
